Reporting to the Board and Department for Environment and Water Executive, the Manager will drive the development, management and delivery of the South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board’s Management Plan to effectively manage the South East Drainage Network, a significant infrastructure asset that underpins the economic viability of the South East, mitigates the impact of flooding events and provides environmental benefits to wetlands. 

Your skills and expertise in leading, managing and developing a multi-disciplinary team will be critical to your success in this role.  You will appreciate the nuances of working in a regional environment, and along with your collaboration and engagement capabilities you will have reputation for successfully delivering a large program of work.  You will have a track record of driving strategic planning, policy development and service delivery to achieve outcomes within a Board led and/or government context.  You will have strong knowledge and appreciation of the issues surrounding infrastructure management and natural resource management, in particular in relation to water issues.

Special Conditions: 

  • This role is based at Millicent, South Australia. A hybrid location arrangement may be considered however this will be subject to business needs.
  • May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
  • A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential. 
  • May be required to undertake intra, interstate and remote travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role, you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.

Remuneration: MAS3: $122,274 per annum.
