The Principal Engineer will provide leadership, expertise and guidance to ensure the delivery of a range of complex and critical projects associated with the South East Drainage Network. In this role you will provide technical oversight and advice, strategic project management, project development, procurement, and stakeholder negotiation to ensure effective implementation and delivery of the program outcomes.
The Principal Drainage Network Engineer leads the Engineering and Works team with planning, development and implementation of a rolling capital works and maintenance program including drainage infrastructure investigations, assessments, spraying and repair projects to ensure the drainage network assets are fit for purpose. The Principal Drainage Network Engineer ensures that design standards to meet compliance requirements and the management of risks to the environment and South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board are met.
Your experience in management of civil infrastructure construction projects and contracts, along with your extensive civil engineering expertise, particularly in design and maintenance of steel and concrete structures will ensure you can succeed in this role.
Experience in the asset management of civil infrastructure, including valuation and condition assessment is highly desirable. You will also have experience in leading teams and managing contracted services to deliver on-ground works.
- Role is based in Millicent however consideration may be given to other locations within the region.
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- Some out of hours work may be required.
- Inter, intrastate and remote area travel including overnight absences may be required, including travel in light aircraft.
- A protective uniform will be required to be worn on construction sites.
Essential qualifications: A degree in civil or environmental engineering is essential. Postgraduate qualifications with an emphasis on project management are highly desirable.
Remuneration: PO4: $105,860 min – 115,208 max per annum.
