Our Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer to focus on the customer service experience throughout Technology project lifecycles. As part of the Water group, you will be required to provide confidence to communities and stakeholders with the transparent stewardship of water resources, provision of services and reforms that support sustainable and healthy environments, economies and societies across NSW. 

About You

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement policies, Technology projects, guidance and strategic and innovative solutions to improve the Department of Planning and Environment’s ability to achieve effective outcomes for the broader community. 

You will demonstrate your Technology project management experience by coordinating resources and maintaining project documentation. Contributing to the achievement of project objectives; you will implement and monitor project plans to assist in managing tight deadlines. Developing and maintaining sustainable stakeholder relationships, to contribute to project working groups, which will be of high importance to you. 

As Senior Project Officer you will be comfortable undertaking research and needs/requirements analysis and communicate trends and emerging issues that you have identified. Your ability to coordinate competing priorities and taking the initiative to maintain updated project knowledge will also contribute to your success as Senior Project Officer. 

To be the successful applicate for this position you will require; 

  • The demonstrated ability to gather and document accurate information about business needs/requirements and provide reports 
  • Analyse and consolidate information to develop business cases to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Work with key stakeholders, internal and external, to identify how changing business requirements may be delivered with existing solutions. 
  • Lead and manage the planning and delivery of critical, highly complex and / or large projects
  • Develop and implement project management plans to ensure the success of the project
