Background: The Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable (CRWR) is a multi-stakeholder body whose mission is to preserve and enhance the health of the Coquitlam River Watershed through collaboration, education and advisory action.

Job Description: The Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable is seeking a research assistant to develop an assessment and reporting framework to evaluated the effectiveness our Lower Coquitlam River Watershed Plan. The Watershed Plan outlines the major pressures affecting watershed health and identifies a number of strategies to address each pressure. Strategies are implemented as capacity allows on an annual basis. The Roundtable is looking to develop a standardized method of assessing the effectiveness of these programs for reporting to Roundtable members and funders. Research will look at other watershed plan assessment methods and techniques and work with a subcommittee to outline and form recommendations for creating an assessment plan.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous experience and training in formal evaluation
  • Familiar with qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Training in biological and natural systems preferred

Terms: Part-time 30 hours/week, fixed-term contract for 8 weeks. Applicants must be: between 16-30 years of age; legally entitled to work in Canada; Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee status; willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.

Renumeration: $20/hr
