Position Title: Watershed Coordinator

Agency: Eastern Band Cherokee Indians – Natural Resources Department, Cherokee, NC

Job Description:  This is a full-time position where incumbent will work within the EBCI Water Quality Program to develop and implement watershed management plans for Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians trust lands. This position will work closely with government agencies, non-profits, and individual citizens in the community to meet water quality protection and stream restoration objectives.  Staff member will provide stream restoration survey, design, construction and contract oversight.  Responsible for preparing grant applications and technical reports.  Assists other program staff with water quality and biotic monitoring.  Performs resource impact analysis in support of Tribal and federal regulatory requirements.

Location: western North Carolina (stationed in Cherokee)

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in environmental sciences, water resources, or a related natural resource management field
  • Minimum 5-year of experience in water resource management (graduate level education may be considered experience)
  • Valid driver’s license is required

Salary: $37,474 to $46,843 starting range DOQ, full medical benefits, vacation and sick leave, matching 410k, and pension
