Job description
The Resilient Water Systems Group (Singapore University of Technology and Design) offers one PhD position in areas broadly related to water resources management, multi-sector dynamics, optimization and control of large-scale infrastructure. Potential topics of research include:
- Managing Southeast Asia’s climate-water-energy-food systems in a changing climate;
- Designing sustainable power grid interconnections for ASEAN countries: integration amid the water-energy nexus;
- Linking past, present, and future hydro-climatic variability to water and energy management.
Applicants must hold a Bachelors and/or Masters degree in engineering, science, or applied mathematics, with a good academic background in hydrology, optimization, and statistics/probability.
The start time is mid-September 2022. All scholarships include full tuition fees and a competitive compensation. Selected candidates with an outstanding academic profile will be granted additional funding support for international conferences and overseas research attachments.
