Science Communications Intern
Description: The Nicholas Institute Water Policy Program is seeking a student intern to support its science communications efforts. The role will focus on the Internet of Water project but could also include the development of communications materials for the Water Policy Program more broadly. The student will manage the Internet of Water’s monthly newsletter and social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn). The student will also complete other communications tasks as needed, which could include writing blog posts, laying out reports and other documents, creating infographics, and updating the Internet of Water’s website.
Skills: The student should have experience with Constant Contact and Adobe InDesign and be able to write concise and professional communications materials for social media and email. Experience with Canva, WordPress, or Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
Data Analyst Intern
Description: The Nicholas Institute Water Policy Program is seeking a student intern to support its data efforts. The student will work on a new water rates data project, creating a template for collecting rate structures for utilities across the U.S.
Skills: The student should have experience R and working with data.
This position is open to students currently residing in North Carolina, California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.
Undergraduate applicants must reside in North Carolina.
