About the Job

The successful candidate will have experience working with data loggers, computers, instruments, measurement systems, and building instrumentation for field and lab measurements. A background in environmental science or environmental engineering is preferred.

Position Summary: The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to advance scientific understanding and predictability of the transport and fate of agricultural trace gases including ammonia, nitrous oxide (its isotopologues and isotopomers), methane, dicamba, and others. 

Perform structured research-related work assignments.  Identifies problems and relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses potential responses using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions accordingly. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others.

Job Duties:
(_30__%) Maintain environmental measurement systems including tunable diode lasers, high air flow samplers, mesocosm growth chambers.
(_30__%) Build measurement systems for detecting trace gas emissions from agricultural systems.
(__20_%) Perform field and lab-based measurements.
(__20_%) Archive data, perform data analyses, document experimental study notes and conduct scientific research on specific topics.

Required Qualifications: BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years; applies knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on precision and timeliness of execution. 

Preferred Qualifications:
A BS in Science, Engineering, or Environmental Engineering is preferred. The work performed in this project will be related to environmental and atmospheric measurements; building air sampling systems; programming computers and data loggers; maintaining sensitive environmental equipment. Field and lab-based measurements will be performed and documented.
