This role sits within the Community, Events and Education team, and reports into the Communities and Volunteering Manager. The team plays an important role in the fundraising function of WaterAid, responsible for a range of youth engagement activities, events and audience management. However, the team delivers far more than simply income by deepening the engagement of existing supporters, recruiting new supporters, raising awareness of WaterAid’s work and providing a local presence.

The Senior Engagement and Fundraising Officer – Youth is responsible for managing relationships with youth audiences (encompassing schools, universities and students and youth groups) and delivering a range of engagement opportunities, products and resources, as well as fundraising income.

Salary: £34,299 – £36,098 subject to experience with excellent benefits. Fixed term contract until 31 December 2022, with possibility to extend/be made permanent.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting some of our youngest fundraisers with amazing relationship management skills, bags of enthusiasm and a passion for getting out and meeting supporters face-to-face.

You’ll also:
* Develop and cultivate successful relationships with youth audiences across a range of channels to increase engagement with, and fundraising for WaterAid.
* Build effective and proactive relationships across WaterAid to support delivery of youth fundraising and engagement activity.
* Create engaging content, resources and opportunities for projects and activities for youth audiences across a range of channels (digital, face-to-face etc).
* Represent WaterAid in relevant external fora to ensure that WaterAid is at the forefront of youth engagement.
* Keep up to date with relevant changes in the youth engagement field and government initiatives and recommend future approaches to support and benefit from these changes.

To be successful, you’ll need:
* Significant proven community fundraising experience in a charity environment, having focused on fundraising from universities, schools and/or youth groups.
* A keen interest and experience of working and communicating with youth audiences.
* Excellent verbal communication skills and demonstrable experience of building, managing and developing excellent relationships with people and organisations at all levels.

WaterAid is currently located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. We support and enjoy a hybrid working environment, this includes regular attendance in the London office to connect with each other.
