ECODIT has received a small-business award for the Restoring the Environment through Prosperity, Livelihoods and Conserving Ecosystems (REPLACE) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, USAID’s primary biodiversity contracting mechanism. In anticipation of task orders under the IDIQ, ECODIT seeks qualified mid-level and senior candidates for its database of technical specialists, to serve on short-term and long-term international assignments.  ECODIT anticipates that expertise in the following areas will be needed:

  • Biodiversity Conservation
  • Sustainable Forestry
  • Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (including REDD+)
  • Sustainable Agricultural Intensification
  • Ecosystem Services
  • Sustainable Tourism
  • Environmental Enterprise Development (e.g., SMEs, value chain analysis)
  • Sustainable Conservation Finance
  • Ecosystem Payments Services
  • Resource Rights, Governance and Policy Reform
  • Resource-Based Conflict Mitigation & Management
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Nature, Wealth and Power (NWP) Approach
  • Gender Integration in NRM

Specific roles and responsibilities will vary, depending on donor requirements and assignment deliverables. Short-term travel or long-term posting overseas may be required for certain assignments.


  • Ph.D. in one or more REPLACE IDIQ fields with a minimum of 10 years of professional international experience for a senior candidate; M.A. in one or more REPLACE IDIQ fields with 5 years of professional international experience for a mid-level candidate
  • Previous experience working on USAID- or other donor-funded NRM projects and assignments
  • Experience working and/or living in developing country contexts is highly desirable
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Fluency in at least one relevant language other than English is a plus
