General description of the position

Under the supervision of Field Coordinator, you will manage WASH related assistance to conflict-affected populations in Ninwa Governorate.

Main responsabilities

  • Design and implement the out-of-camp activities in urban, peri-urban and rural areas;
  • Monitor and supervise the WASH activities in Mosul city including schools and hospitals;
  • Design and set-up the water network rehabilitation activities;
  • Implement MEAL activities including complaint mechanism and monitor system to ensure its effective implementation and satisfaction of the communities

Do you fit the requested profile ?

You hold a Diploma equivalent to Master in a field related to WaSH and you have a significant experience in WaSH activities, and at least 2 year in a managerial role in emergency context. You demonstrate the ability to train and develop teams. You have knowledge of humanitarian WaSH, project management. Experience in security management is an asset. 

Recognized for you good organizational skills and strong training and capacity building skills, you are able to ensure effective organizational representation at different levels. As you work on remote area, you have to easily integrate with remote areas living conditions.

Disciplined and able to work and arrive at decisions autonomously and with minimal guidance, you also have strong capacity to work in tense conditions and high insecure and volatile context. 

Fluent in English required.

Specific conditions / Salary

Gross monthly salary ranging from €1600 to €1975 depending on relevant experience

Country allowance (12% of the gross salary)

Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective accommodation, medical insurance 

25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year 

Work context

A team of 5-10 staff depending on future projects, likely focussed rehabilitation of WASH facilities in public institutions (schools, medical clinics, etc), rehabilitation of the water network, drainage system repair, and debris and solid waste clean-up and management in urban context.  Also work in peri-urban and rural areas of Ninewa Governate. The security conditions in the context are relatively stable but restrictive
