Postdoctoral Researcher (Watershed Hydrology Lab)
Postdoctoral Researcher needed for projects using remote sensing, GIS and terrestrial laser scanning techniques to study fluvial geomorphology and river sediment transport. The Postdoctoral Researcher will assist with field and lab data collection, perform spatial analysis and modeling on river/floodplain data, perform statistical analyses, train graduate students in Watershed Hydrology lab, lead preparation of peer-reviewed publications, assist with procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and complete other job duties as assigned. Some nights and weekend may be required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: PhD in Geography, Hydrology or related scientific field. Applicant must have a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, research experience in river sediment transport modeling and fluvial geomorphology, and is skillful with remote sensing, GIS and terrestrial scanning techniques as well as programming languages MATLAB, R, and SAS. Maintenance of spatial analysis equipment (e.g. Riegl Laser Measurement systems) experience is preferred. Applicant must be able to obtain a Louisiana Driver’s License and drive state vehicles.
