This position is located in the Environmental Policy and Operations Division, AEE-400 where the incumbent is responsible for supporting agency-wide compliance with environmental statues, regulations, executive orders, and requirements or goals set by the Department of Transportation (DOT) or the FAA.

Incumbent will perform a mixture of routine, multiple, and varying assignments under the limited direction of the division manager and/or more experienced technical specialist

Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the FAA's Environmental Management System (EMS), which provides an efficient and effective framework for environmental compliance. Duties will include conducting or arranging annual audits of FAA Lines of Business (LOBs) and Centers with EMSs; updating the FAA's EMS Order consistent with current Executive Orders; and coordinating meetings of the EMS Steering Committee.

Incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating FAA efforts to plan and implement energy efficiency and conservation projects and overseeing compliance with tracking and reporting requirements for energy consumption and other environmental performance metrics.

Additional responsibilities will include: (1) advising LOBs on requirements and providing support to ensure that FAA actions comply with Federal, DOT and FAA environmental policies; (2) overseeing revisions to FAA Orders on environmental requirements to reflect current regulations, directives and best practices; and (3) managing specific project/program support contracts related to environmental compliance.
