Position Details

We are building an inclusive workplace to help realise the potential of our employees, embrace our differences, and apply our diverse thinking to innovation and delivering services to Victorian communities. All jobs can be worked flexibly and we encourage job applications from Aboriginal people, people with disabilities, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

This is an exciting role for a natural environment professional and enthusiast. We have received state government funding to deliver on biodiversity projects around threatened species and communities, connecting Victorians with nature and coordinating on ground action projects in Hume Region.

Your project management skills are solid; you can comfortably navigate the milestones of projects and work through ‘pain points' to see projects to their completion.  You can organise yourself to gain the optimum use of your time and that of the people you work with. Your skills will be used to devise a plan, cutting through to the delivery of the plan and bring it to life – from coordination to facilitation to implementation and reporting.

You will utilise your well-developed stakeholder engagement skills as you engage with community groups and government agencies, such as Parks Victoria and Catchment Management Authorities on a regular basis. No conversation you have is insignificant or too difficult for you. Your stakeholder engagement skills – which include communication and negotiation - will be utilised as you navigate complex issues, conversations, expectations and the general demands and priorities of the role. You are enthusiastic about helping Victorians connect with nature and can engage with our partners and communities to have practical and constructive conversations, leading to actions.

It goes without saying but you will be a self-starter, have volumes of initiative, and are an ‘ideas generator' – you come to work and love what you! All that you do will be underpinned by your exceptional ability to be highly organised – it is because you are organised, and you are an ideas generator that you can see projects through to the end.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 9 months.

To be considered for this position, your application should include a covering letter, supporting statement demonstrating that you meet the key selection criteria and the job requirements specified in the position description.
