AWS Asia-Pacific is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the transformation of our not-for-profit organisation from a successful start-up into an internationally respected organisation.

As CEO, you will implement the Global AWS Strategy 2019‑21, adapting it to the specific needs and opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region. As the organisation lead, you will promote the value of water stewardship to relevant Asia-Pacific stakeholders in civil society and the public and private sectors. You will leverage your business acumen to build new partnerships and improve the long-term financial viability of the organisation. Using your technical expertise, you will maintain the integrity of the AWS International Water Stewardship Standard and its associated systems, ensuring high quality training programs are developed and implemented for potential water stewards and service providers.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multi-sited team in Melbourne and the Gold Coast (Australia), Shanghai (China), Hong Kong and Bogor (Indonesia). The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and will collaborate with AWS Global and Regional Partner staff in the United Kingdom, United States, South Asia, and Africa.

Role Specifications

This is a full-time position based in Australia. Your location in Australia is negotiable; the AWS Asia-Pacific Office and Chairperson are based in Melbourne and the COO is based on the Gold Coast.

Regular overseas and domestic travel is required for this role. After business hours work may be required to accommodate partner time zones.

Skills Required

You are a capable leader with a passion for sustainable water management and a strong commitment to water stewardship. You have a proven track record in achieving desirable outcomes through collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including industries, industry associations, regulators, governments and civil society organisations. You are a visionary fundraiser with strong negotiation and persuasive skills, and demonstrated success in enhancing revenue streams. You are comfortable working with an international team and can lead by example to promote an inclusive, positive, and high-performance culture.

You must have the right to work and live in Australia.
