Aquatic Plant Management Team Leader
The Department of Natural Resources is hiring an Aquatic Plant Management Team Leader in the Division of Environmental Management. This position will be stationed in the DNR Headquarters located at 101 S. Webster Street in the heart of downtown Madison, near the state capitol.

This position is responsible for leading the Aquatic Plant Management (APM) team who ensure compliance with the APM permit program which protects beneficial aquatic plant communities and controls invasive aquatic plant species. Duties include working with program management to communicate, work plan, budget and evaluate the APM subprogram's activities, ensuring that staff are adequately trained and receive the resources needed to complete assignments and that customers are provided excellent service.

Qualifications: Minimally qualified candidates will have:
• Experience interpreting and applying statutes, administrative codes or program guidance for regulated activities
• Experience using pesticides in a regulated, commercial type setting
• Training, education and/or experience with aquatic plant identification and management
Well-qualified candidates will have:
• Experience using aquatic herbicides to control aquatic plants
• Experience writing program regulations based on applicable statutes and administrative codes
• Experience interpreting and applying statutes, administrative codes or program guidance related to natural resources, waterways, wetlands or similar
• Training/coursework/certification in pesticide or herbicide use
