Australia nationals: Local Engagement Officer
The Commonwealth Environmental Water Office is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, connected, knowledgeable, empathetic, articulate professional who can represent the Office and engage positively with diverse stakeholder groups.
The role provides a great opportunity to share ideas and information with the communities of the Northern Murray-Darling Basin about the health of rivers and wetlands and the management and use of environmental water.
You will support effective and efficient management and use of Commonwealth environmental water by:
• engaging and building partnerships with communities, organisations, delivery partners and groups
• representing and communicating the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office’s interests in conjunction with other members of the section
• support preparation of material to communicate Commonwealth environmental water activities in the region
• and being involved in relevant local activities and environmental water management processes.
The Northern Basin Section comprises seven staff, including two local engagement officers that are based regionally. The Section supports the efficient and effective use of Commonwealth environmental water in the Northern Basin, which includes responsibility for nine catchments within the Murray-Darling Basin (the Basin) from the Border Rivers (at the top of the Basin in southern Queensland) south to the Macquarie catchment (in central New South Wales).
