Environmental Engineering Faculty Position and Director of Water Research Center
The Department of Environmental Engineering and the Water Research Center (CITA, www.cita.utec.edu.pe) at the ‘Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia’ (UTEC), Lima, Peru, invites applications for a faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the Department and to the Director position of CITA. We are especially interested in the following areas, but not limited to: (1) Remote sensing applications to atmospheric, coastal, highland and/or Amazonian processes, (2) Hydrogeology, surface and groundwater interaction, coastal groundwater, reactive transport, porous media and multiphase flow, groundwater modeling and applications to agriculture, mining and water scarcity, (3) Water treatment processes and technology, wastewater treatment solutions, micropollutants in water, physical-chemical technologies and disinfection by-products, and (4) Hydrochemistry, water quality monitoring and modeling, water recycling, (5) Ecosystems and landscape ecology, coastal, marine and riverine ecosystem ecology, ecosystem management and water cycle, vegetation and environment interactions, biogeochemistry and biogeochemical processes, (6) coastal and marine chemistry and processes, complex flows and transport of pollutants in estuary and in general coastal wetlands, lake processes, coastal management and policy. Applicants whose work bridges areas and who envision cross departmental collaborations are particularly encouraged to apply.
Once hired, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to obtain competitive external funding linked to the Water Research Center (CITA, www.cita.utec.edu.pe), to establish an effervescent cross-disciplinary research program, and to contribute through service to the profession, to the department, and to UTEC.

- PhD degree in environmental, civil, environmental science, ecology, biology, geosciences or relevant field required;
- Excellent written & oral communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;
- Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus).
- Experience teaching environmental engineering courses;
- Experience writing grant proposals;
- Demonstrated interest in working with academic, industry, and/or community partners.
