Aboriginal Water Resources Officer
Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Australia’s largest rural water corporation responsible for storing, managing and delivering water across most of northern Victoria. GMW provides more than 39,000 services to about 25,000 customers in its operating region.
GMW is seeking a strategic professional to work with our vibrant indigenous communities of Northern Victoria on a wide array of projects to improve collaboration between agencies and our indigenous communities relating to water resource management.
Having a strong water resource management focus, you’ll liaise with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the GMW water resource management objectives and deliver key objectives of the Victorian Government Water for Victoria-Aboriginal Values:
- Recognise Aboriginal values and objectives of water
- Include Aboriginal values and traditional ecological knowledge in water planning
- Support Aboriginal access to water for economic development
- Build capacity to increase Aboriginal participation in water management
