We have an opening for a full-time Research officer or Analyst in the Environment practice in Paris.
NERA’s Environment practice offers world-recognized expert services related to the economics of environmental policies in the fields of climate change, air quality, water quality, and other environmental, health, and safety areas. We have particular expertise in emissions trading to address climate change and air quality issues, in the evaluation of a wide variety of climate change policies, including renewable energy and energy efficiency policies and their interactions with greenhouse gas emission cap-and-trade programmes, as well as extensive experience evaluating costs, benefits and economic impacts of a wide variety of government policies and infrastructure investments.
The responsibilities of the role may include, but are not limited to, assisting in the preparation of economic studies related to climate change and other energy and environmental issues. The products are typically technical reports and expert testimony. The types of analyses include cost-benefit analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, natural resource valuation, and economic impact modelling. The incumbent may design and build quantitative models; apply statistical analysis to economic and financial data; collect market, industry, company, and competitor information and perform data integrity checks; review, summarise and analyse industry trends; create tables, graphs, and charts for economic analysis; draft memos, assemble presentations and marketing materials; and participate in team meetings. Ability to use statistical software is preferred and some travel may be required.
Candidates should enjoy solving analytical and empirical problems, have exceptional creative, critical thinking and technical skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates should also have a strong working knowledge of PowerPoint to assist with business development activity.
