Greenprint Partners is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Equitable Planning Team. This individual will manage a wide variety of cutting edge planning and community engagement projects in partnership with our municipal and strategic partners that advance equitable and sustainable stormwater solutions across the US. The position reports to Kristin Ihnchak, Director of Equitable Planning. The ideal candidate brings experience in equity-driven urban planning, grant writing and project management combined with an intellectual curiosity and collaborative spirit.

This position can either be located in Greenprint’s headquarters of Chicago, IL, or remotely from Philadelphia, PA given the growth of our portfolio of Philadelphia-based projects. General responsibilities:
Greenprint is seeking a motivated urban planner to manage equity-driven green infrastructure planning and capacity building processes, execute fundraising and grant applications, support the development of Greenprint’s equitable planning practice, and lead authentic community engagement efforts. Primary responsibilities include:
- Project managementÂ
- Serve as project lead and primary point of client contact for a variety of projects with a range of complexity, including equitable green infrastructure planning processes, fundraising efforts, relevant policy and research projects, and GI project development
- In collaboration with management team and internal subject matter experts, conceptualize and manage project scope, team (including subconsultants), timeline, and budget. Proactively communicate issues to management and clients throughout project lifespan
- Coordinate with project team, partners, and internal cross-disciplinary staff to meet project goals and key performance indicators while delivering excellent client service
- Planning
- Conduct research and analysis of existing conditions, industry toolkits and best practices, funding programs, and other topics as needed
- Coordinate development of state and federal grant applications for both Greenprint projects and on behalf of municipal clients, including drafting and obtaining approval for project approach, budget, timeline, and other application components
- Draft content for deliverables, including reports, toolkits, grant applications, plans, implementation approaches, funding strategies, proposals, and presentations. Develop maps and graphics in collaboration with marketing team
- Support other cross-disciplinary staff as needed to lend planning expertise
- Project development
- Coordinate with water utilities, institutional property owners and our internal engineering and design team to help eligible landowners develop GI projects on their sites and apply for utility grant funding
- Community and stakeholder engagement
- Plan and lead creative and dynamic public outreach meetings that forward project goals while building trust with community stakeholders, educating participants about green infrastructure and its benefits, and facilitating representative community authorship
- Participate in meetings with community-based organizations and institutions to increase project awareness, diversify stakeholder base, and gain input from community members
- Form diverse stakeholder advisory groups by identifying and building relationships with a core group of community stakeholders. Meaningfully consult with this group throughout the planning process, and conduct stakeholder interviewsÂ
Desired Experience
- Professional and educational background in urban planning, environmental planning, landscape architecture or related fields
- 5+ years of experience; relevant experience may include (but is not limited to) community engagement, community organizing, equity, municipal government/public agencies, municipal finance, sustainability, infrastructure development, project management, grant writingÂ
- Strong critical thinking and quantitative and qualitative analytical skills are required for this role
- GIS proficiency is required
