OTR mission is to ensure a healthy, thriving, sustainable river connected to the hearts and minds of its community. The OTR Management Plan has four primary goals focused on the health of the river, connecting people and places, creating an engaged community, and addressing the long term and sustainable management of the river. The One Truckee River Coordinator, an AmeriCorps member, will be an essential member of the OTR team. The member will assist the OTR Executive Director to support the OTR partners to implement OTR’s high priority action items.

Member Duties : Primary Responsibilities: Conduct research, support building, and implement a process through OTR Partnership Council to develop a master trail plan for the Truckee River corridor in the urban core utilizing existing plans and efforts already underway with consideration of funding opportunities. Implement a OTR strategic outreach and communication plan. Assist with building a public champion to support the River Restroom Project to increase public restrooms along the Truckee River to protect water quality. Maintain and develop environmental education efforts involving the Truckee River Watershed Participate in efforts to launch a restoration pilot at Brodhead Park including working with marginalized individuals in the nearby area.
