Position Overview
Lead RL’s strategy to drive measurable and science-based, positive outcomes for nature across our business through internal and external partnerships
Essential Duties & Responsibilities •Strategy Development: Lead the development of new and the acceleration of existing goals and commitments in the areas of biodiversity, water stewardship and nature-based climate commitments (i.e. science based targets for nature); Support the integration of water and biodiversity action and resiliency plans for our supply chain and global operations•Measurement and Reporting: Partner to craft implementation plans and manage appropriate measurement systems to track progress against water and biodiversity goals•Expertise & Leadership: Act as Ralph Lauren’s subject matter expert on biodiversity and water stewardship across the business, including leadership presentations, enterprise risk management and internal & external communications; Ensure credibility with key stakeholders in light of evolving trends and science, assessing priority areas•NGO/Partner Engagement: Lead industry transformation efforts and manage strategic partnerships for all of the above, including representing Ralph Lauren in industry groups such as the Fashion Pact and Textile Exchange; Work with external experts, internal partners and key implementation partners to support our biodiversity, water stewardship and nature-based climate strategies, including WWF
Experience, Skills & Knowledge• Experience working in a sustainability role within a global corporation or organization with a focus on biodiversity, climate, and/or water required•Subject matter expertise on the topics of biodiversity measurement, ecosystem services, water resource management and regenerative agriculture•Proven experience in a leadership role and an established stakeholder and topical expert network required•Understanding of textile and apparel supply chains and the environmental impacts and opportunities associated with the sourcing of key materials including: cotton, leather and wool•Advanced degrees in sustainability/natural resource management and business, such as an MBA or Masters in Sustainability preferred•Knowledge of science-based targets, experience measuring and addressing Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) emissions•Collaborative and innovative approach to developing and implementing strategy, with an ability to navigate challenging topics with many diverse partners internally and externally•A high level of communication, flexibility and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with global, virtual and cross-functional teams in multiple geographies and across diverse cultures
