The Rivers Trust is looking for a highly organised individual with a confident proactive approach to project communications and delivery.

As the Project Communications Officer, you will be an integral part of the growing Communications Team at The Rivers Trust. Your role will involve planning, co-ordinating and delivering project communication outputs across a variety of platforms and media. You will be the main point of contact to a number of project partners and will ensure project deliverables are met on time.

The successful candidate will have experience in bringing to life scientific and technical information and will have previously worked as a communications officer, account or project manager. You will need to be comfortable working in a busy multi-disciplinary team, have great people skills, excellent writing skills and will have a strong background in helping to plan and deliver a range of outcomes.

Key responsibilities include liaising with project partners, reporting on communication aspects of the portfolio of projects, co-ordinating the design and print of any printed collateral, writing copy for web and social media, managing social media accounts, project management of communications inputs from project partners, managing project budgets and co-ordinating the design and build of new project websites, plus updating websites.

You will be working on a portfolio of projects that include government and private sector partners. Familiarity with the government’s communication service Evaluation Framework is necessary, plus an understanding of corporate communications and reporting.

The Rivers Trust is the umbrella organisation for 60 member Rivers Trusts, we are the only group of environmental charities in the UK and Ireland, dedicated to protecting and improving river environments, for the benefit of people and wildlife.
