The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is the Province’s agency responsible for land and resource management in BC, which includes the protection of the Province’s archaeological and heritage resources. To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the following:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences or related field.
  • Minimum of six years of related experience (or an acceptable combination of education and experience), including leading project design and delivery, analysis and reporting, and providing advice within a regulatory regime.
  • Registered (or immediately eligible for registration) as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) in BC with the College of Applied Biology. Note: Immediately eligible is define as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the CAB within six months of employment.
  • Experience assessing and monitoring natural resources.
  • Recent demonstrated experience developing in-stream flow need recommendations.

Preference may be given for one or more of the following:

  • Completion of Master’s Degree or higher in relevant field of expertise.
  • Advanced scientific knowledge in a speciality area (Hydrology/Environment Flow Needs).
  • Recent experience developing and promoting working relationships and negotiation of technical agreements with internal and external partners, stakeholders, First Nations and government agencies related to in-stream flow requirements.
  • Experience leading staff in project or field settings.
  • Experience interpreting and applying natural resource management legislation and policy.
