Job Description

What will you be getting up to?

You will provide vital inputs on groundwater modelling and other numerical / data-driven projects. These inputs will include data analysis and manipulation, as well as construction, calibration and processing of groundwater and contaminant transport models (principally MODFLOW and MT3D) for a variety of clients and purposes. You will also provide support to more junior team members to help develop the team, as well as checking other team members' work.

We will provide appropriate training and mentorship to assist you in developing your career in the way that best suits your skills and aspirations.

Candidate Specification

If you have experience working within water resources and have experience using groundwater modelling packages such as, MODFLOW and UK regional groundwater models, then this could be a great opportunity for you. You will also need to have the following qualifications and capabilities:

  • MSc in environmental geoscience, hydrogeology, water resources or similar discipline. A degree in geology would be desirable
  • Extensive experience working within the environmental and water industry
  • Experience using modelling software (MODFLOW, PEST, or other)
  • Programming knowledge (VBA, Python, or other)
  • Database management skills (Access, SQL ,etc)
  • Quantitative, organised, and with good attention to detail
  • Experience in GIS would be advantageous
