The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Project Coordinator I within the SNV-IFPRI Voice for Change (V4C) Partnership project for a one-year, fixed-term, renewable appointment in IFPRI’s Markets, Trade, and Institutions Division (MTID). The V4C Partnership Project, which is led by SNV (a Dutch development organization) and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to strengthen civil society organizations (CSOs) in Kenya, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Honduras and Indonesia in their role as advocates and lobbyists. The V4C Partnership project will tackle four issues – food and nutrition security, resilience, renewable energy, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) – by also addressing gender balance and climate change mitigation. IFPRI will work together with SNV and selected CSOs to strengthen evidence-based advocacy on two of the four thematic issues: food and nutrition security and resilience. The Project Coordinator I will facilitate and support the work of IFPRI researchers to assure that the project meets its objectives.

Essential Duties:

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides support in research and management of the V4C Partnership project and in collaboration with other non-governmental and civil society partners, in several cross-regional countries.

  • Support principal researchers on the different research activities being implemented.

  • Monitor level of effort and expenditure of resources against program budgets.

  • Assure that invoices are submitted to program sponsors in a timely manner.

  • Audit expenses to assure proper use of financial resources provided by sponsors.

  • Prepare program work plans, program calendar, and timelines.

  • Coordinate arrangements and logistics for program meetings.

  • Prepare and maintain inventories, databases, and annotated bibliographies.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.

  • Respond to requests for information about research programs.

  • Maintain program minutes and related materials.

Required Qualifications:

•      Bachelor’s degree in the research discipline or business management.

•      Familiarity with food, nutrition, agricultural and/or rural development issues in developing countries.

•      Knowledge of research methodologies.

•      Knowledge of program management methods and techniques.

•      Fluency in written and spoken English.

•      Strong interpersonal skills.

•      Ability to communicate with diverse audiences.

•      Willingness to travel.

•      Keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

•      Proficiency in a second language.
