  • Develop and maintain floodplain management plans and policies consistent with State and Federal water management legislation and obligations
  • Temporary full-time opportunity until 30 June 2022, location negotiable across NSW
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $131,094 – $151,609 + super

Our Water Group team is currently seeking to appoint a Manager, Floodplain Management Planning to lead a team of planners and technical specialists to develop and maintain floodplain management plans, rules and policies. In this role, you will work towards supporting environmental, cultural and community needs and requirements by overseeing all aspects of floodplain management plan development, maintenance, and implementation, providing expert advice, supporting technical analysis, and utilising best-practice decision-making.

About You

You will have proven experience providing quality and expert advice to government and non-government stakeholders relating to water planning. You will have strong negotiation skills, managing complex consultations with various stakeholders and using judgement to make key decisions in the face of conflicting perspectives and viewpoints. You will also have experience managing a team and guiding planning framework and ensuring outcomes are met.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in hydrology, integrated water management, planning and/or equivalent experience
  • NSW Driver licence
  • Overnight travel as required
