It’s an exciting time for our Healthy Waters space as we welcome a number of new people into the organisation! We have another opportunity for a Senior Water Specialist – Māori Outcomes to join our Wai Ora Strategic Programmes team.

As our Senior in this space, your role will be to help lead and support the design and implementation of Māori Outcomes across Healthy Waters. You will also have the opportunity to inform and input into wider policy on water management.

Day-to-day you can expect to work on:
•    Implementation of Māori Outcomes across Healthy Waters
•    Supporting team to respond to iwi, council specialist, and customer requests,
•    Informing on policy on water management,
•    Mentoring and training staff to grow the skills and competencies of others.

Please note: This is a fixed-term or secondment opportunity to 13th May 2022.

He kōrero mōu: About you

For this position, you will need to have work experience in water, Māori engagement and/or local government sector. You’ll also have a bachelor’s degree in water quality or related fields including engineering, planning, or environmental science.

It’s crucial you understand local authority functions, and substantial consultation and stakeholder management experience. You’ll also be comfortable providing effective leadership in project management.

A Full NZ drivers’ licence is a requirement of the role.
