The Water Group is seeking an experienced Natural Resource Project Officer (Flood Engineer) to support the delivery of the Hunter Valley Flood Mitigation Scheme, delivering best practice floodplain and asset management for the people and communities of NSW.

About You

The Natural Resource Project Officer (Flood Engineer) is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of the Hunter Valley Flood Mitigation Scheme and assist in flood emergency management in accordance with National and State legislation, policies, guidelines and directions.

You will ensure all agreed projects are delivered on time and schedule by working with suppliers and liaising with stakeholders  including landholders and communicate the intent and limits to projects whilst identifying opportunities for life cycle optimisation within the Hunter Valley Flood Mitigation Scheme asset portfolio. 

You will possess sound knowledge of floodplain risk assessment methods and floodplain management strategies and knowledge of principles of asset management. Previous experience in managing civil engineering design and construction projects will ensure success in this technical role.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent and eligible for membership of Engineers Australia
  • Current NSW Driver’s licence
