DESCRIPTION

The Social Responsibility program drives customer trust and business continuity by ensuring respect for the rights of workers throughout Amazon’s supply chain and operations. We uphold company standards and expectations (such as our Supplier Code of Conduct), and seek to constantly improve the tools and processes that we use in doing so.

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Manager to play a leadership role in designing engagement and capacity-building initiatives to manage environmental considerations in Amazon’s growing and diverse supply chain. You will be a major player in designing impactful programs, including communicating industry initiatives, and working with external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

· Evaluate environmental impacts in Amazon’s supply chain and implement strategies to reduce the environmental impact
· Evaluate new technology and industry barriers to minimizing environmental supply chain impacts
· Work with diverse stakeholders to coordinate, and implement strategies to reduce, monitor, optimize energy, water, and waste in Amazon’s supply chain
· Collaborate with and influence external industry groups
· Identify and test scalable solutions in partnership with global suppliers and business teams
· Think Big to build Amazon’s supply chain environmental program and drive innovative solutions to challenging problems. Your vision, roadmap, and prioritization decisions are well-reasoned and customer-obsessed.
· Learn and Be Curious as subject matter experts, and well-versed with influencing and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, while driving best change management practices through communication.
· Invent and Simplify by designing solutions to manage complex environmental problems in global supply chain, and
· Earn Trust with business partners, company leadership, and key stakeholders (Sustainability, Legal, PR, Public Policy, workers!) and drive insightful discussions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Construction, Environmental science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience working in supply chains, or sustainability
• 5+ years of experience managing project timelines, contractor scopes, and project budgets

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Construction, Environmental science, or related field
• Track record working with a diverse set of stakeholders, and experience working with external industry groups
• Experience with communicating effectively with senior leadership
• Superior analytical and project/program management skills
