Local recruitment: Trainee Freshwater Conservation Officers (three positions available)

Salary: ÂŁ15,960 (National Living Wage)

12 month full time fixed term contract. Based in Oxford.

Trainees will participate in a new dedicated freshwater training programme (60% training; 40% shadowing staff) with opportunities to specialise in all aspects of Freshwater Habitats Trust’s work. The successful candidates will be provided with the essential experience and skills for a career in UK freshwater conservation, covering all areas relevant to the project including: practical management, habitat design and creation, wetland species survey and identification, species licencing, plant propagation, hydrology/geology, research, community engagement, developing project briefs, project management and finances and will be in a prime position for further employment with Freshwater Habitats Trust.
