The REACH programme is a nine-year (2015-2024) programme funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). This project involves a research consortium of global leaders in water science, policy and practice. It aims to increase water security for ten million people in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia by 2024 and is one of UK FCDO’s largest investments in water security research.
The Communications and Knowledge Exchange Manager is responsible for the strategy and delivery of internal and external communications for the programme, and ensuring the effective delivery of the Research into Action Strategy. You will be an experienced and self-motivated communications or knowledge exchange specialist who will work closely with all members of the consortium to communicate the programme’s research and bring about change in policy and practice. The post-holder will also lead the organisation of a programme of events including annual workshops and conferences.
The successful candidate will combine the experience and capability of delivering innovative communications or knowledge exchange work with ideally a knowledge of water security for poverty reduction. You will be a keen team player and have the ability to build strong working relationships with University staff and international partners. Excellent writing skills and experience in planning and managing budgets is essential. The role will involve some overseas travel.
