It engages actively in policy advocacy initiatives at the state and national level mainly related to rainfed areas. WASSAN has contributed substantially to development of watershed policies in various states and at Government of India. Job Description:

The Project Coordinator will be

· Should lead the block team – provide adequate leadership, supervision, day to day management and support system to the team members

· Perspective building on watershed concepts and ridge to valley principles

· Facilitate participatory processes in planning, implementation and monitoring of works

· Ensure ratification of DPRs plan by the Gram Sabha and its entry in the NREGA Soft (AAP)

· Ensure timely approval of plan from block MGNREGA office

· Provide assistance to team colleagues in the preparation of technical training materials and training modules and take up active roles in conducting training and exposure visits

· Assist technical personnel in the Gram Panchayats and Block to prepare DPR including technical design and estimates of structures

· Regular visit to the field areas, provide technical assistance / handholding to stakeholders at the grassroots (community, gram panchayat, frontline workers of the government) for proper implementation of works

· Establish healthy working relationships with all relevant Stakeholders- Govt, PRIs and rural communities

· Ensure compliance with systems and processes — timely progress reporting

· Work in close coordination with the lead partner

Desired Candidate Profile:

· Graduate in Engineering / Agriculture Or allied Fields or a Post Graduate in Science / Humanities from reputed institutions with good communication skills in English and Hindi along with computing skills.

· At least 3 years’ of experience in relevant field (Watershed/NRM projects) would be preferable along with ability to engage with farmers and community collectives,

· The Candidate should be able to collaborate with relevant stakeholders / agencies to improve coordination and programme delivery on the ground,

· Should be motivated to work in the villages specially with deprived sections and willing to acquire new knowledge and skills relevant to the project and guide implementation processes,

Languages: Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Hindi is a must.
