Description: Ensure effective execution of all the water resources programs (watershed, spring shed and water quality), WASH, and related programs for water security for all
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead/support the implementation of water resources – watershed, soil water conservation, spring shed, repair and maintenance, and natural resources according to scientific and technical aspects under the larger Sustainable Landscape Management program in line with the strategic goals of the Foundation
- Responsible for training, capacity building and exposures of the VHWSC members, villagers, water user groups, PRI’s & Block level Govt. officials on watershed, spring shed, hydrology and hydrogeology, natural resources management, appropriate systems and institutions, and WASH to ensure effective implementation of governance frameworks with data and evidence based decision making
- Ensure formation of water management institutions, establishing participatory water balances and budgeting with regular monitoring mechanisms
- Planning, preparing design and estimates, review all crucial technical plans and ensure execution of civil and construction works, repairs, strengthening, operation and maintenance of all structures for water security of the region
- Promote, administer, and manage the watershed activities, participatory groundwater management, water quality and WASH programs along with other activities
- Establish and maintain good rapport, and work closely with community, PRI members, government officials and all stakeholders of project area for feedback and convergence
- Responsible to ensure coordination with program managers and internal teams, implementation and technical knowledge partners, for on-ground implementation of activities, new initiatives and projects
- Operationalize M&E Framework and technology tools to ensure effective data collection & monitoring through participatory research with focus on planning and impact assessments
- Deliver timely compliance to all the routine reporting requirements & accordingly plan and conduct periodic review meetings.
Candidate Profile:
Qualification:
- Masters or M. Tech in water resources management/ B. Tech in Agriculture/ B.E. Civil Engineering from a reputed institution
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years or experience (Associate level) or 10 years (Manager level) in watershed, spring shed, water quality and WASH programs implementation with community and diverse stakeholders
Capabilities:
- Strong program management, stakeholder engagement and partnership management skills
- Ability to work across multiple verticals and execute water resources programs with focus on livelihoods, environment and ecosystem
- Sound technical knowledge about watershed, civil engineering, construction, operation and maintenance which includes design estimates, technical plans, along with budget development, its management and ensuring compliances
- Strong data, monitoring and evaluation, documentation, social mobilization, team management and coordination skills
- Significant experience in building deep relationships with government stakeholders and community leadership
- Strong understanding of the watershed, spring shed, water quality, WASH, with focus on Western Ghats ecology
- Proficiency in English, Hindi and Marathi (verbal and written)
- Good skills on MS-Office and other relevant systems
