Through an internal expression of interest, our Water Group team are seeking a Senior Water Resource Officer to provide technical advice and expertise and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure sustainable management of the State’s water resources and deliver implementation of water management plans and policies to achieve water reform and policy outcomes. In this role, you will also implement water resource management programs in a complex and time-constrained environment with changing technical and policy developments, while meeting sustainable water management outcomes that deliver environmental, social and economic benefits to the community of NSW.

About You

As a Senior Water Resource Officer, your work will contribute to broader water resource management functions that promote integration of water management issues from a number of water disciplines across the business.

Ideally with a background in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, your qualifications and experience in water or natural resource management will support effective decision making and implementation of water management plans, policies and procedures to achieve water reform and policy outcomes. You will undertake complex investigations and develop solutions that address water resource management, implementation, planning and policy gaps, inconsistencies and implementation obstacles.

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate degree-level tertiary qualifications in environmental science, ecology, natural resource management, environmental engineering or a related discipline.
  • An established track record in project management and delivery.
  • Comprehensive understanding of State and Federal natural resource management frameworks, especially in relation to water resource management.
