Accurate knowledge of the river flow is essential for the main hydrological-hydraulic analyses and applications. The research activity will be focused on the different approaches for the estimation of the flow rate especially for the use of innovative no-contact techniques to identify the procedures that can be conveniently applied even in conditions of inaccessible river sections or in extreme hydraulic conditions. (flood events). The flow measurements will allow to identify the water level-discharge relationships and therefore to develop the historical flow series that can be used for the study of the closure of the hydrological balance of the basins in relation to the different components also for the definition of a hydrological drought index.
