Role Purpose
This role is responsible for establishing and managing a successful global water conservation program which will be delivered through a team of JLL Energy & Sustainability Managers and the JLL Integrated Facilities Management.
What this job involves
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide guidance and technical support to global energy and sustainability managers, energy engineers and energy/sustainability analysts specific to water program goals.
- Collaborate with facilities, engineering, projects, sourcing, finance, and planning teams to collectively meet program goals
- Acts as subject matter expert in water stewardship, water equity, and resiliency. Able to quantify impact of policy and project impact relative to these issues.
- Responsible for aggregation of global water projects, results, and initiatives.
- Coordinate alignment in the use of technology, vendors, and programs to streamline program deployment.
- Vet the deployment of sustainability initiatives impacting water.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to determine upstream opportunities for water reduction.
- Understand specific areas of interest with respect to watershed concerns.
- Develop policies and procedures for water reduction and reuse from GREF real estate projects and operations.
- Create processes and procedures for water data collection and monitoring to be used by regional managers and data analysts. Ensure adherence and on-going tracking of results.
- Monitors financial performance of all water initiatives with regional accounts. Work with regional teams track and improve performance with proactive use of data.
- Responsible for vetting and developing innovative strategies including zero wastewater, xeriscaping, grey water reuse, etc.
- Research and stay current on industry trends and related regulatory issues to enhance the program, educate and train teams of associates and subcontractors.
- Optimize global relationships with utility, municipal, and technology partners to improve performance and reduce program costs.
- Accountable for achieving client water reduction goals.
- Interface with external industry associations, regulatory agencies, and other partners
- Ensure programs developed follow all contracts, laws, rules, and regulations governing program activities at local, state, and national level.

Requirements – Essential

- University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields)
- Robust experience reviewing and refining technical and commercial aspects of sustainability upgrades such as working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation systems
- Understanding of Global energy and sustainability initiatives including but not limited to UN Sustainable Development Goals, Science Based Targets, CDP, TCFD
- A strategic thinker with capability and experience to work with a wide range of stakeholders in multiple geographies and cultures.
- Experience in developing and enhancing systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes
- Strong ability to analyse corporate portfolio by benchmarking and reviewing utility data to drive sustainability measures
- Familiarity with energy procurement process and renewable energy options
- Ability to plan and prioritize deadlines and think strategically to identify innovative solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience developing sustainability solutions
- Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view
- Ability to lead teams of energy & sustainability professionals
Requirements – Desirable
- Knowledge and appreciation of energy markets and energy procurement globally
- Ability to travel globally
- Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
- Experience in the preparation of tenders and work orders and the ability to select appropriate equipment and service vendors
- Knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management and energy budgets, an environmental improvement program, and ISO 14001 compliance.
