The program includes the experimental and modeling study of various innovative technologies applied or in the process of being applied by various water service companies aimed at minimizing energy consumption and reducing or enhancing the value of sludge and sludge ashes, such as, for example:
– nitrogen removal processes both from waters deriving from sludge treatment and from the main flow of waste water;
– sludge treatment technologies including innovative chemical, biological, thermochemical and dewatering processes.
The study will include the evaluation of the process parameters based on the experimental data collected and their modeling using commercial software platforms available in the DICA Department.
