CTC is seeking a principal analyst to support and assist a senior Department of the Air Force client with a focus on installation energy and water. As a Principal Energy & Water Analyst, your goal will be to advise on emerging technologies, flag and resolve issues, promote a collaborative environment, support stakeholder engagement in joint activities and discussions, and ensure assigned tasks are on track. You will work closely with the Program Manager and Government stakeholders to support senior officials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and track emerging energy/water technologies and evaluate systems and markets to develop deep understanding and perspective of innovative opportunities
  • Apply technical knowledge and information to the development of energy/water technology demonstrations and pilot projects and manage cross-functional teams to execute
  • Develop tools, methods, and procedures to ensure appropriate capabilities providing energy/water resilience to Air Force missions
  • Provide in-depth evaluation of emerging energy/water technologies, such as business case analyses or life-cycle cost analyses
  • Work with Air Force leadership in the planning, preparation, and implementation of policies and strategies as well as identifying focus areas and priorities in support of new and ongoing energy and water efforts
  • Provide detailed updates to leadership and stakeholders by participating in meetings/forums and coordinating, consolidating, developing and delivering and or presenting associated meeting materials (e.g. slides, after action reports, minutes, articles).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in engineering, science, management or related discipline plus eight (8) years of directly related experience with a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience
  • Experience and knowledge of energy and water issues and project management
  • Ability to understand key concepts and data related to emerging energy and water technologies
  • Willingness and ability to set priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a heavy workload setting  
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, written and oral, supported by inter-personal skills that support being a liaison between teams and with client leaders
  • Exceptional presentation skills; persuasive, encouraging, motivating, and inspiring; the ability to listen and understand
  • Capability to independently initiate and manage tasks, with a high degree of detail and process orientation to produce high-quality results
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint  
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest/expertise in energy and energy technologies, such as micro-reactors, electric vehicle charging equipment and infrastructure, and energy resilience
  • Understanding of potential direct and indirect funding opportunities and partnership that could be utilized for conducting demonstrations
  • Strategic thinker focused on advancing energy and water technology development and policy analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, energy and water policy/regulation development, implementation, and/or oversight at a federal level, preferably within the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, or the Department of Homeland Security
  • Knowledge of Air Force structure and operations
