SNV has been working in Indonesia since 2013. It supports the Government of Indonesia at national, provincial, and local level in their efforts to increase access to safely managed drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in Indonesia, both in rural and urban areas. Currently our city-wide sanitation programs address the entire sanitation chain by providing technical assistance on WASH governance, finance, treatment and reuse technologies, sustainable WASH service models and behaviour change activities.
In view of anticipated projects in the WASH sector in Indonesia, SNV is looking for senior specialists for long term and short-term positions. Anticipated programs will cover strengthening of urban water and sanitation government owned agencies as well as the private sector engagement, covering drinking water capture, transport, treatment and distribution facilities, sewerage-based sanitation, semi-centralised sanitation systems (Sanimas) and on-site sanitation. In addition to technical assistance (technical capacity building, SOPs, performance improvement), all programs come along with institutional, regulatory, socialisation, Gender and social inclusion as well as climate change components.
Positions will be based either in Jakarta or in cities of implementation.
Sanitation engineer specialist with relevant professional experience in sanitation sector and wastewater treatment sector, experienced in contributing to the design of urban sanitation services and treatment, construction supervision and operational management of drinking water treatment plants, faecal sludge treatment plants, semi-centralised sanitation systems (DEWATS, Sanimas), on site sanitation systems. Experienced in providing high quality, evidence based advisory services on Urban Sanitation products and Services for city authorities and the private sector.
- Minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree or engineering degree in relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years or more of experience in relevant discipline or field
- Demonstrated experience working in the WASH sector in Indonesia, including with public utilities, private sector and government. In depth understanding of the WASH sector context in Indonesia.
- Fluency in spoken English and Bahasa.
- Extensive field visits in line with Covid-19 safety measures.
