Job Description

  • Contribute to Water for Victoria actions to further develop the water markets in Victoria
  • Work within the Grid Oversight and Market Reform team
  • Location: East Melbourne, VIC The Water and Catchment Group, in partnership with water corporations and catchment management authorities, is responsible for effectively managing Victoria’s water resources to meet future urban, rural and environmental needs.

The Project Officer, Water Market Reform will be responsible for contributing to Water for Victoria actions to further develop water markets in south central Victoria and other parts of the state, and also support the delivery of projects related to Water Market Reform with limited direction. You will also support the provision of timely and professional advice to internal and external stakeholders on specific issues associated with Water Market Reform.

This role requires you to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other parts of the Department, Water Corporations and other key stakeholders, whilst preparing reports and briefing material on complex policy studies.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated project management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to plan and organise objectives and priorities clearly. An appropriate tertiary qualification in natural resource management, economics, science, engineering or other relevant disciplines is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years.
