Summary

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his/her expertise as a Environmental Protection Specialist.

LOCATION: Lower Colorado Region, Yuma Area Office, Resource Management Office, Environmental Planning and Compliance Group, Compliance Team, Yuma AZ.

Responsibilities

Schedules, coordinates, and prepares environmental compliance (EIS, EA, FONSI, CE) and commitment documents for complex YAO projects with substantial funding allocations covering wide geographical areas which require major expenditure of time and effort for completion.

Reviews and evaluates program progress to ensure overall program is meeting planned environmental objectives.

Works with inter-agency committees in preparing plans to enhance the Lower Colorado River environmentally.

Conducts field and literature surveys required for the preparation of environmental documents.

Prepares biological assessments as required in Section 7 or the Endangered Species Act.  Prepares Section 401 and Section 404 permit application packages to support Clean Water Act compliance.

Coordinates with Regional Archeologist to support National Historic Preservation Act and consults on applicable projects.
