We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is inspirational to others and can provide strong leadership to our Enforcement and Incident management workstreams. The role will also lead on high profile customer communications and liaison for the team. You will support, and work closely with the two Team Leaders
You will need to be readily approachable to support and provide guidance and coaching to team members. You will plan and monitor delivery of work and will be an expert link between a number of internal teams, ensuring excellent performance and delivery of our 25 Year Environment Plan objectives.
Give leadership and direction to our legal work and retain comprehensive oversight of all Land and Water enforcement cases and drive their delivery.
Lead as senior point of contact for all Land and Water incidents and ensure we follow standards and procedure. Embed future changes to our operational approach to incident response across the department.
Communications and customer liaison
Senior point of contact for all high profile / contentious communication issues.
Co-ordinate our effective and timely responses collaborating with Team leaders and Managers.The team The two Land and Water teams deliver our Water, Land and Biodiversity brief, in an area including the cities, of Derby, Leicester and Nottingham, and also large areas given over to agriculture including the Derbyshire Peak District. The diverse nature of our Area makes for challenges and opportunities to enhance the environment.
Your base will be at one of our office locations :- Owston Ferry, Ripley, Nottingham, Rothley. Travel between these locations will be necessary.Experience/skills required A degree in a relevant subject, or related and equivalent work experience;
strong leadership qualities
a good knowledge of the sectors influencing water quality. Have experience and skills in modern regulation and relevant legislation. Have a track record of delivering successful enforcement outcomes;
expected to be self-motivated and plan your workload to fit around Area priorities;
coaching and mentoring staff within our Teams is essential. Aim to develop confident and high performing staff;
apply your own initiative, and as part of a team to make decisions to achieve planned outcomes;
excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for helping others.
Be able to promote inclusion by respecting differences in our workforce and work to build a supporting and engaging workplace;
have the ability to develop yourself to face the changing challenges of our work;

Role specific license requirements: Full driving licence
