We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages for our Team Members.Sustainability AnalystThe Sustainability Analyst is responsible for providing technical support to Niagara Bottling’s Sustainability efforts. The position will focus on collecting, reporting and disseminating data for the Sustainability team, with particular attention given to our water footprint. The role requires extensive collaboration across multiple teams to accurately track key metrics, such as production, water usage, resource usage, and GHG emissions. Using a Systems Approach, the Sustainability Analyst will identify and present opportunities to the Sustainability team that will enhance Niagara’s sustainability efforts. The ideal candidate is committed to working towards a Sustainable future, driven to learn and share, and able to propose, implement, and/or collaborate on sustainability projects across multiple business units.

Essential Functions

  • ESG Reporting:
    • Keep track of key regulations and legislation identified by the Government Affairs team.
    • Track important dates and requirements for all Sustainability reporting required from Niagara, and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner.
    • Support Compliance, Government Affairs, and Economic development teams by creating accurate reports as required by local, state and national authorities.
  • Internal Reporting & Documentation:
    • Track data related to resource usage across all Niagara facilities.
    • Document and keep track of all conservation initiatives and their impact on resources usage.
    • Report progress to the Sustainability Manager and Niagara Green teams on all relevant projects and their impact on water usage, GHG emissions, and other tracked metrics.
    • Collaborate with other Sustainability members to create reports for existing/potential customers, trade organizations and non-profit organizations.
    • Support plants in adopting and implementing Alliance for Water Stewardship recommended best practices, and become the in-house expert on the AWS certification process.
    • Identify and propose new Sustainability projects based on areas of opportunity.
  • Data Accuracy
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Compliance, IT, PLM, Sales, Production, and other relevant teams to ensure all data reported to customers and authorities is accurate.
    • Work with PLM and other relevant teams to ensure data structures are maintained and streamline tracking and reporting.
    • Track water and other resource usage by customer and manufacturing location.

    • 40% – on average travels 2 weeks out of the month

Competencies

  • Familiar with Sustainable philosophies and Systems Thinking – Knowledgeable about sustainability and the Systems Thinking approach is a plus.
  • Familiar with Alliance for Water Stewardship – knowledge of the AWS standards; previous experience on AWS certified projects preferred.
  • Advanced data processing skills – Advanced skills using Excel, Tableau, or other similar platforms. Capable of processing large sets of data and extract meaningful conclusions.
  • Advanced data visualization skills – Capable of understanding the needs and levels of expertise of the audience, and tailor data visualization to meet their needs.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency and demonstrated expertise in conducting Life Cycle Analyses and interpreting and communicating results. Professional LCA practitioner certification preferred. Experience with at least one of the following software platforms required: Compass/EcoImpact from SPC/Trayak, GaBi from PE International, Open LCA, Simapro from PRé; REGIS from Ecopro; Umberto from IFU Hamburg; and the Ecoinvent database
  • Strong data entry skills using:
    • Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem Solving – identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and translates data into recommendable actions to senior staff
  • Planning/Organizing – uses time efficiently; meets goals and objectives in a timely manner; organizes tasks for efficiency and productivity. Able to execute tasks in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment

Education

  • Minimum Required: 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in life cycle assessment, sustainability studies, statistics, applied mathematics, environmental science, engineering, business, computer science or communications.
  • Preferred: 
    • Master’s Degree in life cycle assessment, sustainability studies, statistics, applied mathematics, environmental science, engineering, business, computer science or communications.
